THIS FASCINATING book traces the development of the American Jewish home from 1880 – 1950. Beautiful images, advertisements, and documents.

This book is special to me because I WORK in interior design / architecture for my full time job, and there are VERY few books on the Jewish home. Actually, this is the first one I’ve ever found.

Essays include “A Set Table: Jewish Domestic Culture in the New World" by Jenna Weissman Joselit and “Kitchen Judaism” by Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett.
